แล้วบางสิ่งก็เริ่มเกิดขึ้นกับวง จนเป็นการเปลี่ยนแปลงในที่สุด เมื่อนักร้อง Fabio Lione คิดจะเปลี่ยนชื่อวงใหม่ เพื่อให้ชื่อใหม่นี้ เป็นก้าวใหม่ในการนำพาสิ่งใหม่ๆ  Alex จึงเลือกชื่อ Rhapsody of Fire เนื่องจากมันแสดงตัวตนและทิศทางของวงได้มากกว่า ชื่อ Rhapsody เฉยๆ
